Update on us

I've been neglecting the blog, so I thought I would give an update. We are in Illinois and doing well. Our stuff will not be delivered until Sunday, so really we have been camping in the new house as opposed to actually living here, but it is starting to feel like home already.

Chris has been working hard, with some much appreciated help from Jim, assembling media cabinets and installing light fixtures and ceiling fans. We have also had a painter here since Monday painting much of the house to make it feel more like ours. He will finish up today for the week, but will be back next week to do the entryway and stairs after our furniture is delivered.

I have been trying to set up all our services and make sure both kids are signed up for school and activities. Plus, I have been curtain shopping. I hate curtains!!

But, all is well with us. Chris started work at the Chicago office today, so we are officially Chicagoland residents. We are also looking forward to watching the first Illini football game this weekend! Go Illini!

The Packers Are Here

We had a Clean Out The Freezer Dinner with Gary, Sue and Erin last night. I hope to get some pictures from Sue today to post.

Right now the packers are here. Packers are great. I highly recommend them. The only downside is they came a half an hour before the scheduled two hour window and I was still in my pjs and not done packing our suitcases! But, everything got done and now we are just trying to stay out of their way.

Disneyland

We went to Disneyland yesterday as one last hurrah before we moved and didn't have Disney so close by. Plus, it was Lila's first trip to Disneyland!! We all had a lot of fun and both kids were very good. Lila didn't really know what was going on with all the people and the rides, but she seemed to enjoy herself, pointing at the rides and wanting to go on them. Her favorite ride, we think, was Winnie the Pooh so we rode that twice.

Adventures on Lake Tahoe

Ian is visiting Gary and Sue at their house near Lake Tahoe for a few days. When I talked to him today he said that innertubing on the lake was the most fun he's ever had. Here are some pictures from Sue.

Rain Boots

Lila and I made a quick trip to the mall today. I saw these rain boots and when I picked them up Lila started reaching for them. When I gave them to her she hugged them. So I HAD to get them!! They are a size too big, so she'll have to wait to grow into them, but she loves them already.

New Skirts

Gary came over tonight for a quick visit with the kids before Lila had to go to bed. Lila gave Gary several VERY sweet kisses, but of course I missed all of them.

Welcome Home Ian!

Ian got back from his three week visit with his dad this afternoon. We were all very happy to have him home. All Lila has done since Ian got home is hug him or follow him around with her arms out asking for hugs.
