The Zoo

It is another beautiful day here so Lila and I went to the zoo with some friends. We spent most of our time in the Children's Zoo, but we also saw lions, tigers and the dolphins which were a big hit with the kids.

Lila is definitely the most timid of the group. She was happy to stay in her stroller the entire time and she was adamant that she was NOT going into the petting zoo. So, I didn't take any pictures because she was in her stroller the entire time, but she had a great time and said "Bye Ava! Bye Gia!" then entire way home.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Gary and Sue were here visiting last weekend. The kids had a great time and we all kept busy all weekend long.

Lila having a snack on Friday afternoon.

Putting the fireman hat on Grandma.

They boys watching the parade on Saturday.

On Sunday we went to Gary and Sue's hotel after church so the kids could swim. Ian showed off his swim team skills and then took a break in the hot tub.

Lila had a blast and swam non-stop the entire time.

After Lila's nap we went to the park since it was such a beautiful day.

Lila swang and then went down the slide over and over again.

Gary joined Ian on the jumper. Sue tried, but the boys were too much for her, I think.

St. Patrick's Day Parade!

Today was the Elmhurst St. Pat's Parade. It is beautiful out today and Gary and Sue are here visiting so we all went to enjoy the festivities. Lila wasn't so sure about the parade until she got a leprechaun toy and a pom-pom, after that she was all smiles. Ian got off to a slow start, but managed to collect quite a bit of candy by the end.

The kids in their green.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Beautiful Day!

Today is a beautiful day and luckily, Lila and I were able to take advantage of it. We went to our favorite park with a few friends after music class today and had a great time. Lila is turning into such a big girl! She went down the slide by herself over and over again today. We weren't really dressed for the park and it was a little muddy, but we didn't care because it was so nice to be outside!
If only it would stay this way...

Splishin and Splashin

It was a long afternoon here. Ian didn't have school today and Lila's Miralax that she's been taking for four days decided to start working during naptime, so with a restless preteen and a napless toddler at home I decided we needed to get out. We decided to check out the local indoor water park and had a lot of fun.

They had a lazy river, a kids play area, two big water slides and several small pools. Ian spent the entire time on the water slides and Lila and I hung out in the little 3 foot pool. She jumped in over and over again shouting "one two one two THREE!". After about 40 minutes Lila had had enough so we changed and had a snack while we watched Ian go down the slide.
Every once in awhile Lila would look over at the slides and wave, saying "hi Ian" whether he was there or not.

Ian on his way back to the slide.

Lila's First Haircut!

I either realized I have been slacking or caught a case of "keeping up with the Joneses", but when I found out that three of Lila's little friends have already had haircuts and their hair is shorter than Lila's, I scheduled a haircut for Lila right away.

We went to Kid Snips and had a fantastic experience! Lila is going to want to get her hair cut every day now, I think, because she got to watch Finding Nemo while she got her hair cut, plus she got to pick out a prize and a lollipop when she was done. AND we bought her a new ball because she was so good.

Lila's "before" picture sitting in the police car chair, already zoned out watching the movie.

The first snip!

The only time she cried was when they first put the cape on her, but once she got her blankie she was fine.

She got her hair dried and even had a little mousse in her hair like a big girl.

Our little Zoolander posing for her "after" shot.
